24/2/2022 – A great success for IFMA Belgium Launch Event

As the world’s largest association for professionals in the Facility Management sector with a presence across 106 countries and more than 21.000 members, IFMA aims to support organizations’ leaders to deliver sustainable built environments that create success for and within their business.

During this first event, Peter Ankerstjerne – chairman of the global board of directors – looked back into the past of FM in order to better estimate the future. If the first decades were more focusing on cleaning and more basic workplace equipment, the pandemic clearly brought FacilityManagement in the spotlight and demonstrated its strategic role within the organizations.

Today, the workplace has become the central place where the corporate culture can live and be transferred to all employees. More and more technical tools have been introduced and the hybrid working culture is also impacting the experience for both employees and clients.

Future challenges will also be driven by ESG legal obligations and technologies keep evolving fast, obliging Facility Management to be ready for it! Mieke de Ketelaere made an inspiring speech on the new possibilities of AI while warning us against the mistakes to avoid when integrating AI in our buildings.
